An Answer to Her Prayers
I do not deny that I have hurt you,
In the attempt to bring light into my bastille,
But you won’t ever understand why with the tainted lenses you scrutinize me through.
To have watched you bask up there the way you do,
From the cold, flowerless depths I’ve been confined to,
I do not deny that I have hurt you.
A companionship promised by none other than Zeus, who
Abetted in the capture of My love with no regard to you,
But you won’t ever understand why with the tainted lenses you scrutinize me through.
With this cursed reputation, who would willingly come into?
I do desire a wealth of flowers, so I plucked the most precious in view,
I do not deny that I have hurt you.
You say you see clearly now; therefore, I urge you,
To analyze the events, and recognize what you have compelled me to do,
But you won’t ever understand why with the tainted lenses you scrutinize me through.
I do believe in Myself,
And I lope on that path to My happiness, so
I do not deny that I have hurt you,
But you won’t ever understand why with the tainted lenses you scrutinize me through.
